First things first

REPSE has been given a reputation as a “big authority.” It isn’t.REPSE is simply a public registry from the STPS where companies state which specialized services they offer. Period.

  • It’s not a license.

  • It’s not a permit.

  • It doesn’t authorize anything “extra.”

It’s there so anyone can verify who provides specialized services or works.

So, who needs REPSE?

Anyone who offers specialized services to other companies. On the client side, the rule is simple: don’t hire through REPSE anything that is your own corporate purpose or predominant activity, that’s all.

The basics to sign up (light version)

  • Define the services you actually provide (cleaning, welding, administrative, general helpers, etc.).

  • Make sure those services appear in your corporate purpose (you don’t need a “perfect” purpose, just one that doesn’t contradict what you do).

  • e.firma, RFC/Tax Certificate, articles of incorporation and powers of attorney.

  • IMSS employer registration with at least one person enrolled.

  • Positive compliance opinions up to date with SAT, IMSS, and INFONAVIT.

  • INFONACOT affiliation.

    That’s it!

How to do it (straightforward)

  1. List your services and confirm they appear in your corporate purpose.

  2. Gather your documents (the usual PDFs/XMLs).

  3. Go to the REPSE portal, enter your information, and upload the evidence.

  4. You’ll get a tracking number and—if everything’s in order—the registration arrives in up to 20 business days.

If they ask for a clarification, you reply and that’s it. No rocket science.

Myths vs. realities

Myth: “REPSE is a special authorization.” Reality: No. It’s just a public registry.

Myth: “There’s an official catalog of services.” Reality: No. You register the services you provide.

Myth: “It limits your ability to operate.” Reality: No. The only boundary is on the client’s side: what they hire from you can’t be their corporate purpose/predominant activity.

Myth: “It’s a heavy monthly procedure.” Reality: No. You obtain the registration and renew it every 3 years. The day-to-day is about quarterly reports (IMSS/INFONAVIT).

No drama.
